Beer #103 - Omnipollo / Bianca

Beer #103 - W/C 13 February 2017

BREWERY // Henok Fentie & Karl Grandin they started Omnipollo in 2011 as a new kind of brewery. Henok was a longtime home brewer turned pro and Karl an artist and designer (he is the co-founder of clothing brand Cheap Monday). “Me and Karl work independently,” says Fentie. “I write recipes and brew and Karl creates art, yet we’re in constant conversation about what influences us at a specific time”. They conceive different recipes at home and travel to different breweries around the world to brew them. Wishing a very short time Omnipollo entered the RateBeer Top 100 Brewers in the World and there they have stayed there with their prolific releases of fearlessly experimental beers. Recently we've seen a range of dessert themed beers from Henok with the Ice Cream range as well as beers including a Blueberry Cheesecake Stout and Wild Strawberry/Rhubarb/Vanilla Smoothie IPA.

BEER //
Bianca is a Gose brewed with rock salt, lactose and mango puree as a beer-y homage to everyone's favourite Indian yoghurt drink. This one was brewed at Buxton Brewery in Derbyshire. If you've ever drank a gose or a mango lassi, you could guess what this tastes like. It has a fresh juicy mango, lemon character countered by delicate lactose sourness. It is light and effervescent with a touch of sweetness and a little tart. It is refreshing, rather more-ish and, in common with most of their beers, quite unlike anything else.
