Beer #384 - Moon Dog / Timothy Tamothy Slamothy Caramel

Beer #384 - W/C 20 June 2022

BREWERY // Brothers Josh and Jake Uljans and Karl van Buuren started Moon Dog in 2010 with a plan to brew “Really Ridiculously Fun Beer”. Their original Melbourne brewery was built up bit by bit with the help of eBay. Still proudly independent, they have seen huge growth in the past few years but retain their original spirit. Their first brew kit is now used for small seasonal brews in their brewery bar while a shiny big kit next door is used for bigger batches. You can still visit their small OG brewpub but they now have another home across the city too. At the end of 2019 they opened a gigantic 1 hectare brewery with a lagoon, rainforest and secret tiki bar named Moon Dog World which is a must-visit destination for beer lovers.

BEER // The original version of this beer was inspired by the iconic Antipodean tea time treat of sucking tea through a Tim Tam. In keeping with that sweet biscuit, Moon Dog have decided to do some differently flavoured spin offs starting with this caramel version. It tastes just as you'd expect - caramel is the dominant aroma and it's accompanied by biscuitty malt and slightly roasty chocolate flavours. This is a very smooth full bodied milk stout with a lovely residual sweetness that is ideal to drink on a cooler evening. Be sure to slurp it through your favourite biscuit and share your review in the
NZ Beer Jerks Facebook group.
