Zeelandt / Jerry Rig 5.0% - 330ml Bottle
Not known for their humility, it was an unpleasant surprise to Germany when someone other than Germany made a good beer. A German response to the rise of ‘That Foreign Pilsner’ was therefore both necessary and urgent for the mental well-being of the entire nation. Helles, a Golden Lager in a similar vein, but with a smoother, mellower finish was the end result.
These two styles are closely related, the former hailing from Dortmund and the latter from Bavaria. Both are slightly strong (5.0-5.6%), malt-accented pale lagers. The cookie-like or bready maltiness should be very much in evidence in a traditional example. These beers are clean and easy to drink in quantity. Some Dortmunders made in Denmark and the Netherlands are stronger.
*This product is past its best by date. It will still be fine to drink and tasty but just wont retain all the aroma and flavour of when it was first brewed.
