Staff Picks Mixed Case APRIL - 12 Beer Mixed Case
Every month our staff dig through our chiller to find a great selection of interesting beers for you. This box contains a mixture of different styles and breweries that we're digging at the moment.
This month our resident cherub Aidan has put together a cracking box mixing some easy drinking beer with some very special brews.
You can find Aidan slinging beers behind the bar at the Beer Jerk Bunker and occasionally getting his hands dirty in the warehouse packing boxes for our subscriptions.
April's Box Includes:
Vertical Epic 02/02/02 was not brewed "to style". Instead, we tried to create something new. It’s triple-ish in nature, with wit character, coriander and orange peel, and has way more hops than either a Belgian triple or a Wit would.
This dark saison spent 10 months in a freshly emptied ex. Canterbury wine barrel on top of Canterbury raspberries and Otago sour cherries and a blend of brettanomyces which brings some background complexity to the beer.
Craftwork Good Lord
Craftwork's take on the classic Trappist style. Full and rich with layers of beautifully integrated fruity esters. Made with Chimay yeast and further bottle aged.
Saison du Nectar
Nectar is derived from the Greek word ‘nektar;’ the favoured drink of the Gods. The base beer is a Saison, the dried mango in the boil replaces the traditional Saison spices, yoghurt microbes create the sour character, and conditioning on the peaches adds the extra juiciness.
Maiden Brewing Co focus on Mixed, Wild & Spontaneous fermentation. The first can in the series from them is a passionfruit sour, kettle soured with the addition of passionfruit pulp.
Multiverse Kiwifruit & Lime
Maiden Brewing - Multiverse Kiwifruit & Lime is the next part in their kettle sour series. This version uses kiwifruit puree and lime juice. Full bodied with a firm and bright acidity.
If you like gin, this is your dream IPA. Lots of floral, piney hops with a juniper kick. The malt bill of the 7% IPA makes for a well rounded beer with medium body and sweetness.
Rhyme and Reason Black Lips
A well rounded London style porter, notes of milk chocolate and nuts. Smooth and velvety.
Extra Special Bitter is an English pale ale made from toasty malts and a good dose of New Zealand and English hops.
Alibi Rye IPA
Kereru For Great Justice
Made with all NZ malt and hops. Biscuit, brown, and chocolate malts meld with freshly toasted coconut to greet the senses. Serve cool but not chilled to allow the coconut to shine through.
Double Vision Red Rascal
A rascal lives in us all, sometimes big, sometimes small, though sometimes dormant, never extinct.
Our playful nature is something close to the core and too often forgotten.
Go on, make a snowman, give it some devil horns, kick it over and make a snow angel.
We really loved this mixed case - great mix of saisons and sours for me and malty biscuity beers for the husband. Perfect!
great service and product. can't fault
The thing I most love about Beer jerk cases is that you make choices that I never would so I get get to try all sorts of wonderful and sometimes strange concoctions. Great value, great mix!
