Emporium started life as a homebrew shop run by Paul & Laura Finney. Brewing took over and before they knew it they had a brewery by the ocean in Kaikoura cranking out experimental, historic, wild fermented and barrel aged beers.


This selection includes a few of the wonderful, rare limited releases that Finney brews in very small volumes.

This Limited Release 6 pack contains:


Elimination Strategy 9.2% - Imperial Stout - 375ml Bottle

Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels for a year. Brewed during 2020 lockdown and then bottled during 2021 lockdown.


Cuppa Chai Cha 9.2% - Imperial Stout with Chai - 375ml Bottle

Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels and then spiked with Chalala Chai tea spice.


Sourtopf 5.2% - Fruited Golden Sour - 375ml Bottle

Based on a German tradition of adding fruits to rum as they come into season over summer (Rumtopf). We did the same but with a Pinot Noir barrel aged Golden Sour. We added cherries, apricots, black boy peaches and feijoas. Assertive sourness followed by a fruity finish.


Imperial Apfelstrudel 9.2% - Pastry Stout - 375ml Bottle

We ramped up the ABV on our house favourite Apfelstrudel. The base stout is a kviek fermented Imperial stout that had local coffee added to the boil, and was then aged in bourbon barrels for a year before we added all the fun ingredients of Apple strudel.


Belgian Strong 10.5% - Belgian Strong - 375ml Bottle

Brewed in July 2018, this boozy Belgian has aged beautifully and is now ready for you to enjoy at home. A nice dry finish with stone fruit characters, Belgian spice and a touch of banana from the yeast.


Brettibix 6% - Brett’d Stout - 375ml Bottle

Brett’d Stout aged in Pinot Noir barrels. Brewed in 2018, bottled in 2021.
